Literature is a useful tool to support your recovery, and often used in sponsorship and step work. There are also meetings which read directly from the literature. All literature is available from F.W.S. or your local meeting. Our Intergroup does not offer or sell literature.

S.L.A.A. Literature

There are many different Conference-Approved Literature items to support recovery. Each item shown provides a direct link to its listing in the F.W.S. store.

What is Conference-Approved Literature?

The term Conference-Approved is used to describe all literature (written and audio/visual) approved at the Annual Business Conference/Meeting for publication by the Fellowship-Wide Services office of S.L.A.A. This approval process ensures that according to the group conscience, everything in the literature is in accordance with S.L.A.A. principles, reflects the recovery program of S.L.A.A. and represents the S.L.A.A. experience.

All Conference-Approved Literature goes through a lengthy approval process, during which S.L.A.A. members from all over the world read and express opinions at every stage of production.

S.L.A.A.’s Official Position on Outside Literature

In sum, only S.L.A.A. literature, approved at an Annual Business Meeting (or equivalent) by a properly constituted Conference, qualifies as Conference-Approved Literature. Although the A.A. books, Alcoholics Anonymous and Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, as noted above, are considered recommended reading, they are not Conference-Approved Literature – nor is any other A.A. literature or the literature from any other 12 Step Program, including other “S” programs.
